Link building: The Flippa method of finding great links sources
This is one of the first very creative methods of finding great link sources I stumbled upon and I have to give Glen Allsopp from ViperChill kudos for it, and for his article writing skills in general.
For those who have not heard of it, Flippa is an online market for buying and selling websites.
Because those interested in buying a website want to filter the offers, in order to find the best one for them, the site has come up with an advanced filter system, that allows users to see websites by:
- age
- pageviews
- profit
- field (vertical)
This way you can find great websites to buy, which have a lot of verified traffic and profit, and so on.
But more than that, from an SEO point of view, you can find NEW websites that have managed to get a lot of traffic and profit in a very short time.
Meaning, they know how to get their traffic and links! And analysing their sources you can find some great opportunities. Brilliant!
The filter system used to also allow seeing websites with the highest Page Rank but in the meantime things changed. Still, it remains a great idea which helps with link building.
